Principal's Message
Thank you for joining us for our Harmony Day lunch on Friday. It was a pleasure to welcome so many families and community friends to our school to celebrate Australia's cultural diversity over a Middle Eastern themed luncheon. We enjoyed an impressive menu prepared by our students, using fresh ingredients from our school gardens. Thank you to Mrs Sangster and Katherine for their planning and preparation of such a delicious treat.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the support given to our students by the Dorrigo Rotary Club and Dorrigo Lions Club. Their recent generosity in supporting our students is greatly appreciated.
Wishing all families a Happy Easter and enjoyable holiday break.
Leah Keough

Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden News
Week 9
The wet weather meant that we had an indoor gardening lesson this week. We investigated a variety of plant labels and then designed our own plant labels which will be created next time we have rain on a Friday. We harvested zucchinis, tomatoes, carrots, shallots, bok choy, herbs and eggs. In the kitchen we cooked home-made egg noodles, simple soy and vegetable sauce, bok choy Chinese omlette and hot cross buns for Easter.
Cooking Award: Talia Shipman for maturity and growth in the kitchen.
Week 10
No gardening this week as we were preparing our Harmony Day Middle Eastern Feast. We harvested parsnips, carrots, shallots, tomatoes, capsicums, thyme, coriander, cucumbers, oregano and mint which were used in some of the recipes. It was a big day in the kitchen this week with lots of different Middle Eastern dishes for Harmony Day. The meals that we cooked were Falafel, Vegetable Tagine, Egyptian Muttabel, Lamb Kofta, Israeli Slaw, Mejadra, Fattoush, Pilaf, Tabbouleh, Baba Ganoush, Pita Chips, Labneh, Spicy Carrot Salad, ManakishZa’atar, Halva and Maamoul.
WIRES Visit
On Harmony Day, we welcomed a visit from Jamilla- our local WIRES carer.
Jamilla brought with her an endangered squirrel glider to show us all. He was very cute! While visiting us, Jamilla wanted the students to name the squirrel glider and thanks to Jaxon's fantastic suggestion, he is now named Clyde.
Students and visitors all got to get up close to Clyde and give him a gentle pat. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you, Jamilla.
