Principal's Message
Welcome to week 8. We've certainly had a flurry of proud moments recently where our students are demonstrating their love of learning and willingness to try new things.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Camp 2024
Hunter and Mr Williamson had a blast at the deaf and hard of hearing camp last Wednesday. This camp is a wonderful opportunity to support, inspire and connect deaf and hard of hearing children. Be sure to check out Mr Williamson's report and photos further in today's newsletter.
North Coast Athletics
Congratulations to Nikita for a wonderful day of competition at the North Coast Athletics Carnival on Friday. We are awaiting her results to see if she has progressed to the state carnival.
Lake Ainsworth- next week
Bailey, Henry, Jaxon and Nikita are all set for a week long school camp to Lake Ainsworth next week. I'm sure they will have an action packed week of outdoor adventures and new friendships. Thank you to Dorrigo Public School for providing this special opportunity for our students.
Have a great week!
Leah Keough
Every Day Matters
Attendance Matters
Please remember to explain all days away from school. This can be done in person, by phoning the school or sending a text to the school mobile: 0411 939 188.
Attendance Reminder-Late Arrivals & Early Departures
If your child/ren arrive late to school in the morning, please remember to sign them in the register book in the office. Alternatively, you can let a staff member know the reason to why they are late, and we will update the roll. This also applies for early departures from school in the afternoon. Week 6
No gardening this week due to widespread absences.
We harvested eggs, kale, silverbeet, shallots, pumpkin in storage, garlic chives and parsley.
In the kitchen Katherine and Leanne treated those at school to pumpkin, feta and spinach quiche, roasted pumpkin and vegetable soup, mini soft bread rolls and pumpkin streusel cake with vanilla drizzle.
Week 7
We harvested turnips, shallots, kale, eggs, celery, shallots, carrots and silverbeet.
In the kitchen we cooked extra vegetable fried rice, conyoubing shallot pancakes, Chinese egg custard tarts and a fresh fruit platter.
Cooking Award: We have three awards this week ! Congratulations to Flo Budd, Charlie McGuire and Bailey Freeman for being amazing little chefs.
STEM Incursion
UNSW Engineers Without Borders Outreach Program visits Dundurrabin. Designing, making and testing prosthetic limbs and safe structures really put our STEM skills to work!
STEM - Exploring the Vast Expanse of Space
STEM Group 1 have completed their solar system learning and their brilliant works on display in the office foyer look out of this world. Next time you are in the school come and check them out!
STEM Group 2 have now started their exploration into the vast expanse of space, learning about everything from the big bang theory to galaxies, stars and the planets within the solar system. This week they mapped out the distance ratio of the planets in our school yard. Students are all really enjoying the interactive approach to learning.

Term 3 Assembly & Sports Afternoon
Please join us on Thursday 26 September at 2pm for our Term 3 Assembly. Students will present some of their
learning from the term followed by a skipping extravaganza. After assembly we will be holding a Parents verse Students friendly game of modified tennis. Please come along and join the fun. The students love getting the chance to play against the adults.
School Photos
Our 2024 school photos will be Tuesday 15 October. This is the first Tuesday back after the Term 3 holidays. All students will need to wear their best school uniform and a big smile for our school photos. So that everyone looks their best, we are asking that students please wear their sports shirts and full uniform (navy shorts or trousers). We also ask that students refrain from wearing long, multicoloured socks on that day. Short, dark or white socks would be preferred. Individual order forms will be sent home with your child/ren as soon as we receive them. Please do not lose them as each student is only provided with one which will have a unique code. Envelopes must be returned by Thursday 26 September with payment either enclosed or paid online to the photographer.

The Dog House Australia
Producers at Network 10 are working on the next series of The Dog House Australia. We’re currently looking for people who are interested in appearing on the next series and being matched with a rescue dog to take home forever.
There are many reasons why people decide to get dogs, and often the relationship with a canine companion can have transformative effects on their lives. Our series explores the reasons and stories behind people wanting a dog and then works hand-in-hand with the Animal Welfare League to pair people up with rescue dogs that need homes. You can watch previous episodes to get an idea of the series here: The Dog House Australia - S4 Ep. 10 - Network Ten (10play.com.au)
